“When God created a teacher, he gave us a special friend” Bhai Meharban Singh ji who fully justifies the meaning of his name-Kindness. I got to know him through social media. Without knowing me he answered my queries regarding Rabaab. Then, I requested him to teach me Rabaab. He has immense knowledge of instruments, raagas, and gurbani kirtan and puts in tireless efforts to teach the same. He doesn’t only focus on the basics of music but also tells fascinating facts about Darbar Sahib and in this way, I get a chance to learn more about Sikhism. Apart from this, he always goes above and beyond to teach Kirtan and never keeps a count on time. I am truly blessed to have a teacher-cum-friend like him.

Bhai Sahib is blessed with good command in instructing thus his lessons of teaching are clear enough for students to grasp. It’s been a while learning from him. I would like to conclude that, Meharban Singh is doing great work in spreading awareness & his knowledge about Gurmat Sangeet and Traditional Sikhi Saaza.

Gurbani is a message to us from our gurus to enhance and elevate the quality of living and Sikh Raag Music or Gurmat Sangeet is a tool that we use to meditate that connects our mind to soul. Sikh Music School is doing great work providing online lessons of classical music and tantisaaj to students far away and also to beginners with no previous instrument know-how.
